On the previous Leaders Meeting, Pastor gave me an assignment on to die like an honorable dog or a disgraceful lion? following is my mail to my Pastor.

Hi Pastor,

This is my view on your question last night. Honorable Dog or Disgraceful Lion. Firstly, if can, i want to be a Lion which symbolize Power, Leadership, Dignity as well as Pride. Just like the bible describe the "Lion of Judah". Where else a Dog usually represent Loyalty, Faithful, Humility & Low Class (that's base on what i think), sometimes people describe that a person who links with a dog usually are in the offensive term such as "Man, that guys is so dog". The reason i prefer a Lion characteristic is i always pursue a life of a leader and power, of course, the characteristic of humility and faithful is important too. That's when i can choose.

But here, the question is an "HONORABLE DOG" or "DISGRACEFUL LION". Needless to say, many of the people will choose to be an honorable dog, including me too, no exceptional.

Conclusion, when the terms are coined with either honorable or disgraceful, i will choose where integrity stands. Even though that it might align with a not so good term such as "Dog", I'm ready to give up my selfishness, my own pride to do what i should do, where the integrity are... to be an Honorable Dog.

LOVE GOD: Did Jesus Resurrect from the Dead?

The last few weeks have been quite the rollercoaster ride—ups and downs aplenty! I promise that in my next blog post, I will address all the concerns that some of you have raised recently. But for now, I hope that we can all focus on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as we celebrate His sacrifice and victory for us this Easter weekend.

The period from Palm Sunday to Good Friday and Easter Sunday is traditionally known as the Passion Week. It is the holiest week in the Christian Church calendar. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ have been documented extensively in the Holy Scripture. If Jesus is indeed the Son of God, death would never overpower Him. As such, we read of the resurrection in the following passages:

Four Gospels (Matt. 27:62-63; Mark 8:31; Luke 9:22; John 2:19, 21).

Book of Acts (Acts 1:3, 22; 2:31-32; 3:14-15; 4:33; 13:30-31; 17:18).

Paul’s writings (Rom. 8:11; 1 Cor. 15:4-8).

Peter’s words (Acts 10:40).

Most importantly, Jesus Himself personally testifies that “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death” (Rev. 1:18). In that resurrection, Jesus’ soul and spirit were reunited with His body, which was made alive by the Holy Spirit. He physically rose from the grave, never to die again. Jesus was the first to experience that because while others were restored to physical life, they didn’t have a new body. Jarius’ daughter (Mark 5:35-43) and Lazarus (John 11:38-44) were raised from the dead, but they would ultimately die again. These people would die because Satan, who had the power of death, had not yet been conquered (Heb. 2:14). Christ became the firstfruits (example) of those whose souls would be redeemed from sin (1 Cor. 15:21-23).

Why is the resurrection important? Because Christianity stands or falls with it. Paul says, “And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty . . . And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!” (1 Cor. 15:14, 17). In the landmark book Evidence that Demands a Verdict: Vol. 1, author Josh McDowell writes that “the resurrection of Jesus Christ is either one of the most wicked, vicious, heartless, hoaxes ever foisted on the minds of human beings, or it is the most remarkable fact of history.”

Throughout the centuries, there have been many theories to explain away the possibility of a resurrection. The Theory of Substitution claims that Jesus was never crucified in the first place. Someone else who looked like Him was forced to take His place. If that is true, then Jesus is guilty of deceit, dishonesty and heartlessness. He cared little for the death of an innocent bystander, or for the grief of His closest disciples.

Another theory is the Swoon Theory that states that Jesus never really died on the cross. After hanging for six hours, unknown to the public, He managed to come down in a “swoon.” He was then laid in a cool cave and was later revived by the application of healing ointment and strongly-scented spices. The Swoon Theory suggests that Jesus didn’t want to die, which is evident by Him “hiding” in Gethsemane on the night of His betrayal. His prayer for God to pass the cup from Him also showed His reluctance to die (cf. Matt. 26:39). Besides, there were no witnesses to actually see the crucifixion. The fact that Mary mistakenly took Jesus to be a gardener confirms that He was in disguise to hide from the authorities!

Is the resurrection a hoax or an actual historical event? Josh McDowell, a lawyer by training, puts forth the following ten evidences:

1. Jesus was not afraid to die. In fact, He predicted His own death (Matt. 17:22-23; 20:18-19).

2. Jesus was willing to die. When the Roman soldiers came to arrest Him, He didn’t cower in fear, instead He boldly “went forward” to talk to them (John 18:4).

3. Jesus was definitely sentenced to death. To be sure He remained dead and buried, He was put through six trials to prove His “guilt.” He first appeared before Annas and Caiaphas the high priest, who felt that Jesus was worthy of death (John 18:13-14). He then stood before the highest religious court in the land, the Sanhedrin, who sought charges against Him to put Him to death (Matt. 26:57-59). He was then taken to Pilate and Herod, and the former sentenced Him to death by crucifixion (Luke 23:1-25).

4. There were political motives for His death. To the Romans, Jesus was a rebel by affirming that He was “the King of the Jews” (Luke 23:3). Pilate could face the wrath of Tiberius Caesar for not dealing with a potential menace to the empire. To the Jews, failure to bring a radical troublemaker to the authority could lead to reprisals and stricter oversights from the Romans in the long run.

5. There were economical motives for His death. Jesus upset the commercialization inside the temple (Matt. 21:12-16). Temple service required provision to be made for getting what was needed for the sacrifices—animals, wood, oil, etc.—especially for pilgrims from afar. The great feasts provided opportunities for extortion to abound. Jesus drove the lot out. The chief priest and the temple elders were upset.

6. There were religious motives for His death. Jesus was getting more popular than the established religious leaders. The Pharisees were saying among themselves, “You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!” (John 12:19).

7. Crucifixion ensured the certainty of death. The Persians used it. Alexander the Great used it. In Israel, crucifixion was usually reserved for idolaters and blasphemers. It was the most degrading and cruel form of death sentence. And it was the surest way to guarantee a criminal dies. For Jesus, the pre-crucifixion torture included the whipping using long leather strips with sharp jagged pieces of bones and lead. Most people would have simply died by the end of the whipping. Jesus was then made to wear a crown of thorns and carry the cross up Calvary hill. A seven inch spike was then driven through His wrist nailing Him onto the cross. It was a custom to speed up the death of a criminal on the cross by breaking his legs. But in the case of Jesus, it wasn’t necessary because He had already died (John 19:33). To ensure His death, “one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out” (v. 34). Medically speaking, this implies that Jesus died of a heart failure due to exhaustion and shock. The Romans would never allow the body of a criminal to be taken down from a cross unless they are absolutely sure he is dead. The death must be certified by four executioners. When Jesus was taken down, there was no question that He had truly died.

8. The solid rock tomb made certain there was no possibility of getting the body out. As a Jew, Jesus was buried according to Jewish custom, which will never allow a dead body to be left overnight without embalming. The body of Jesus was covered with 100 pounds of spices and then wrapped in embalming cloth that was sewn by women using three separate garments (John 19:39-40). There was absolutely no possibility of Jesus waking up naturally and freeing Himself from the cloth and the spices. The very large stone against the door of the tomb (Matt. 27:60) weighed 1.5 to 2 tons. Twenty men couldn’t have moved it. To further secure the tomb, the authorities put a Roman seal on the stone to ensure that the tombstone was not tampered with (Matt. 27:66). The Roman seal came with a warning sign that grave robbers would be severely punished. Finally, there was a Roman guard unit of four to 16 men watching over the tomb to make certain that no one stole Jesus’ body away (Matt. 28:11).

9. Yet, the tomb was empty. This could only mean one of two things: (a) the dead body of Jesus was stolen. This by itself would be a miracle considering all the precautions already taken by the Roman and Jewish authorities to prevent anyone from doing that. Besides His dead body was never produced. (b) Jesus Christ really did resurrect from the grave!

10. The immediate psychological and social impact attest to a resurrection. On Easter Sunday, Jesus Christ made at least 15 appearances after His crucifixion and burial:

Mary Magdalene (John 20:14; Mark 16:9)

Women returning from tomb (Matt. 28:9-10)

Simon Peter, later that day (Luke 24:34; 1 Cor. 15:5)

Emmaus disciples (Luke 24:13-33)

Disciples with Thomas absent (Luke 24:36-43; John 20:19-24)

Disciples with Thomas present (John 20:26-29)

Seven by the Lake of Tiberias (John 21:1-23)

500-over believers in Galilee (1 Cor. 15:6)

James the brother of Jesus (1 Cor. 15:7)

Eleven disciples (Matt. 28:16-20; Mark 16:14-20; Luke 24:33-52)

Ascension day (Acts 1:3-12)

Saul of Tarsus (Acts 9:3-6; 1 Cor. 15:8)

Stephen the Martyr (Acts 7:55)

Paul in the temple (Acts 22:17-21; 23:11)

John on the island of Patmos (Rev. 1:10-19)

The enemies could have easily disproved the resurrection with a corpse from the grave, but no body was ever produced. Instead the religious leaders resorted to bribery to concoct a story that Jesus’ disciples had stolen the body by night (Matt. 28:12-13). Yet, there is no historical record of a search for Jesus’ body because too many people at that time had witnessed the resurrection.

The psychological impact among Jesus’ followers was so tangible that they moved from disillusionment, fear and unbelief into courageous faith. What could have precipitated such transformation? Only one thing—an actual resurrection appearance by Jesus Christ! More than just the early apostles, millions of Christians over the last 2,000 years were willing to suffer persecution and death for their faith in a resurrected Savior.

Josh McDowell is right: the resurrection of Jesus Christ is either a terrible hoax or indisputable history. McDowell says that the promise of the resurrection is this: what happened to Christ can happen for us. Like Him, we will die, but His resurrection is a promise that death is not the end. His resurrection is the prototype for our own.

Jesus is our example: if we follow Him, He can make a way when there seems to be no way.
He can raise our dreams when they seem to have died.
He can resurrect marriages that seem to have failed.
He can bring divine health to our broken bodies.
He can lift you up when you feel like you've fallen.

This Easter, let's put our trust and hope in the One who died and rose again. Because through His sacrifice, we can all do the same.

The selfish person has to grow in unselfishness.
The cautious person must grow in courage.
The timid person must grow in confidence,
The dominating person must grow in sensitivity.
The critical person must grow in tolerance.
The negative person must grow in positive attitudes.
The pleasure-seeking person must grow in compassion for suffering people.

When everything is all right, God says,"GO".
Then miracles happen:
A hopeless alcoholic is set free.
A drug addict finds release.
A doubter becomes a child in his belief.
Diseased tissue responds to treatment, and healing begins.
The door to your dream suddenly swings open and there stands God saying, "GO!".

Remember:
God's delays are not God's denials.
God's timing is perfect.
Patience is what we need in prayer.

LOVE GOD: Tommy & 5 Candies

There was a boy call Tommy, one day, his father gave him and his sister each five candies. Tommy was a very greedy boy, he wanted more candies. So, during the night he secretly stole his sister's candies and ate it while she was sleeping. Then throughout the whole night, the boy couldn't sleep... He was feeling very restless, his mind kept on thinking about what would the sister think about him? and what would the father do to him? So he didn't sleep the whole night.

So the next morning, he woke up, he went to the kitchen, and saw his sister and father having breakfast at the table. He immediately took out his share of the candies and gave everything to his sister and he apologized. His dad was very proud of him and bought both of his sister and him Haagen Dazs ice-cream.

So, the moral of this story is, many time we are like the small boy - Tommy. We are greedy and we always want more and more and we try to do it our own way. And many times we fail miserably, but today just like Tommy, if we are willing to trust God and apologized, for the wrong things we had done, good things will come to you just like Tommy and his sister that their father bought them Haagen Dazs ice-cream.

LOVE GOD: Greater Challenge To Excellent

I'm currently serving in Hair and Makeup Ministry CHCKL as hairstylist for almost 5 months now, been learning a lot since joining this ministry... actually at first, this is not my intent that i want to join, my initial plan was actually wanted to serve in the worship team as bassist, as this is what i used to be in my former church. But indeed, God has a greater plan for me, after much encouragement by one of my bestie, i decided to join the ministry, and it proves that is mind-blowing and i serve with a great purpose!

Even though I'm serving regularly in HNM, I'm still hoping one day that i will gain entry to be a part of worship team, as this is my ultimate goal and my calling as well. I was very glad that when i know the Minstry Recruitment Drive is open now, and every ministry is recruiting members to join and commit. As for me, of course without further thinking, i approached my leader to tell her that i wanted to be a part of the worship team to serve as bassist...

Well yet again... this time around, I was challenge by my leader, instead of joining the worship team, she urged me to join the Chinese Ministry and serve in the Media Team..that's mean as a TV crew. After a night of consideration, i decided to give it a try and commit myself in this whole new role, i'm so glad that my leader sponsor me half of the cost to attend the media workshop :)

Truly that, once again, it displays that God has a great purpose and his plan for me is always amazing and totally out of what i cna think of! It is true that when you don't want to limit yourself, and enlarge your capacity, that's when the spirit of excellence will grow too... ultimately, we serve in a good heart and good attitude and bring forth the glory to God through our ministry that we serving in!

LOVE LIFE: What's Wrong With The Stupid Weather?

Arrgghh.. i hate bad weather...every time the weather change bad then my allergy condition also turns bad :(

First, I'm struck with the worst ever bad flu and cough that i ever had ever since... it cause me some nights of bad sleeps due to suffocating and breathing system blockage by phlegm... and it is killing my brain!!! then yesterday i was struck by the stupid allergy outbreak, now rashes all over my body :(

sigh...hopefully my rashes will subsides in the coming days... T.T

In the Holy Scripture, Jacob encountered the Lord in a dream. When he awoke, he proclaimed, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” (Gen. 28:17) He called the name of that place Bethel, which means “the house of God.” What a beautiful description of the church—an awesome place, the gate of heaven. Jesus Christ Himself says, “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” (Matt. 16:18).

After five years of seemingly endless property searches, City Harvest Church has finally purchased a new property to serve our next phase of growth and development. Our members have been giving faithfully and sacrificially, seeking to own a venue where God’s people can gather to worship, pray and serve His kingdom purpose. Next weekend, we will make that location known.

While CHC members (and I suspect, some in the public) sit on the edge of their seats in suspense, awaiting the release of this vital piece of information, I too, am anticipating the various reactions that may arise after the location is known. As such, I have generated a list of Frequently Asked Questions for those whom may have some queries weighing in their minds.

Whatever the case, I hope that we will share the same conviction as King David that the house “for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all the lands” (1 Chr. 22:5).

1. Why is there a need for CHC to secure such a huge facility?

We need a facility that will be able to accommodate the congregations from our English Services, Children’s Church, Chinese Church, Dialect Church, JAMs (Jesus for All Minds) Church, Indonesian Service, Tamil Service, and Filipino Service. By God’s grace, our membership has been growing steadily and it currently stands at 32,731.

At the same time, the cost of hall rentals in Singapore has been increasing. It therefore makes financial sense to have our own facility in the long run. What’s more, our ability to rent halls for worship depends on their availability and other contractual terms. Having our own property means we will no longer subject our congregations to the risk of not being able to rent a facility for use, or having to move from time to time to different venues.

2. Why does the project cost S$310 million?

There are three factors to consider regarding the cost of a project:

a. The size of the property: the land size of the property is large enough to contain a 12,000-seater auditorium to accommodate the needs of our growing congregation.

b. The location of the property: CHC has members coming from all over the island. Centrality and ease of access via public transportation is important to us.

c. The facilities of the property: The building will have many meeting rooms and restaurants, with sufficient car parking space for our congregants and the general public.

3. What type of building will the facility be housed in? Integrated mall? Or purely a place of worship?

It is not purely a place of worship. This property has a 12,000-seater auditorium, and many other meeting rooms and F&B outlets.

4. Why does the church need to be in the CBD area?

We already have an existing church building at Jurong West. But our members come from all over the island. Proximity and accessibility by public transportation is the key factor behind our decision to find another facility that is in the central district of Singapore.

5. How does CHC plan to finance the project?

We will finance the project from the free-will contributions of our members.

6. CHC is planning to spend S$310 million on their building, shouldn’t CHC take care of the poor and needy instead?

CHC spends 20 percent of its annual budget on local community and overseas humanitarian work to help the poor and needy. This work has been ongoing since the church began in 1989. For example, in the aftermath of the Aceh tsunami and Haiti earthquake, CHC volunteered teams of doctors and disaster relief workers with medical supplies, tents and water filters to help the victims. In addition, CHC has been actively giving to missions work and supporting its network of churches all over Asia. With a facility to house the church’s growing congregation and multifaceted ministries, we can serve the needs of the community in an even greater way.

7. Economically, wouldn’t the church save more money if its facility is outside of CBD or in the suburbs of Singapore?

Properties are scarce and property prices are generally high throughout Singapore. The key consideration behind our choice of location is proximity and accessibility for our members.

8. What does CHC plan to achieve in undertaking this massive project?

The facility is meant to meet the needs of our growing congregation for a place of worship. It also allows CHC to move from its present expensive rental model to a more financially sustainable ownership model for the long term.

9. Since majority of the activities of the church are on weekends, how will the building be used during the weekdays? Isn’t it a waste of space?

The facilities of the property and F&B outlets are open to the public daily. During the weekdays, the auditorium will be used from time-to-time as a venue for seminars, conferences, arts and cultural performances.

10. According to the laws of Singapore, can worship services be held within the Central Business District?

There is no legal restriction against conducting worship services in the CBD area, provided zoning and other legal requirements are met. Currently there are more than 30 places of worship in downtown Singapore. These include churches, temples and mosques such as St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Wesley Methodist Church, Orchard Road Presbyterian Church, Sri Mariamman Temple, Masjid Jamae Chulia, Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, Maghain Aboth Synagogue; just to name a few. We will ensure that use of our new facility does not breach zoning restrictions or other legal restrictions applicable to the facility.

11. Since CHC already owns a property in Jurong West, why does it need another facility?

CHC has long outgrown the facility at Jurong West as its capacity is limited to 2,300 people. Our present congregation is more than 14 times the maximum capacity of our Jurong West building. Since 2005 we have had to rent premises at Singapore Expo to accommodate our congregations.

It should also be noted that the new facility does not mean the Jurong West church building will be redundant. Activities such as outreach to the elderly and children living in the Jurong area will continue. The property in Jurong West will still be utilized for training, counseling, prayers, etc.

12. Should CHC elect to have its facility in the downtown area, would there be a potential for crowds and traffic jams in the already crowded CBD?

This is an important consideration which we factored into our planning for the new facility. There is ample car parking space, and the roads surrounding the property are wide enough to ensure smooth traffic.

LOVE LIFE: What Destroy You?

Apparently, there's this friend of mine...well no longer a "friend" anymore... she lives in a miserably, mess up life. She often complained to me about how bad her situation is, she faces a lot of challenges in her career, life, relationship, financially and so on. After some studies of her, i realize that she doesn't have a right vision as well as a correct attitude and mindset for the things she is doing.

As a good friend, i give her some advise and offer some practical help... such as introducing some friends that can help her. Sadly, she never accept the advises and yet not willingly to step out of her comfort zone to live in a a more productive and fruitful life. She would answer me "Everyone is different, i can choose to not listen your advise!" Well, personally i think that this mindset is wrong, a right friend will voice out concern as well as giving advise to build each other up... and many times that such words are deem so uncomfortable to digest, i can't help, but these words can build a person up when you accept and apply it...

People that are reading this, please choose your friends to mix with carefully, mixing with a wrong people will destroy you, I'm not trying to say totally cut off the connection with these people, but we must be careful that not being influence by them and instead we should inspire them and lead them to the right path. Back to my topic, a person that unwillingly to step out of their comfort zone cannot grow. Many times, we can't be successful is because we have many setbacks in our life.. we should remove things that are clutter our view.

in the process, i accidentally knock my head... and i was bleeding with a black color blood... was it the after effect of the long black?

When i look up, i realized that wasn't my blood. It was the black paint from one of the palette earlier... i wonder how it end up on my forehead? Without further sinking to this self-imaginations of mine... i woke up from this hallucination... again, i suspect it was the after effect of my long back. 12:24pm, a little girl running towards the area where the painter standing, she bang on him, thus i was accidentally pushed by him, and it was at this time that Mandy called me, and one of the color from the palette was splashed on my forehead... coincidentally that's a black color, i like this color... it mix and matches well with the color of the world where I'm in now. In the little girl's hand, she is carrying dying injured bunny... probably she is on her hurry, rushing to the veterinary which is next to Starbucks. It was too late for the bunny... the bunny died from the badly wounds... she broke down in tears... and walked away... with some unknown forces urged me... i follow her.... she came to the woods, dug a hole, and she looked at me... without saying any single word... i helped her, together we buried the carcass under an acorn tree. I broke a branch from the tree, and found a piece of cloth... wrapped it around the branch....it reads "R.I.P Fluffy"... a name that the girl named her bunny.

LOVE ARTS: My first ever inked on my skin

I really can't believe that i did it... with much anxious and worry about the pain on getting tattoo that my friend told me, i decided to gush out my juice of guts to get myself an inked. Well, after much research on the design (I'm using Sailor Jerry's arts as reference) and consideration, as well as changing the initial plan on the design, I finally decided on this...

Surprisingly, the process of getting it done is not pain at all but just a little itch plus a few uncomfortable stabs felt on the skin, i was a little disappointed that the tattoo is a bit lower then I've expected, but that just leave a space for me to get another tatts of the word "Cultural Mandate" at the spot where right above the cross has left.

And I'm not done yet with probably 2 black stars at the back of my shoulder supported with 2 tribal arts (I always wanted to get the tribal style of tattoo) then it'll be perfect and done. I've drawn an artist impression attached below. Hopefully, it'll be looking like this after done...

After i get this tattoo, one of my Conservative Christian friend accused me for being "worldly" or whatever that she can describe out from the bible. But with the ultimate teaching of the bible as well as the preaching from Pastor Kong about Cultural Mandate, I'm doing this to engage the culture and reach out to the lost where most of the Christians dare not to or can't to. And with the ending of this post, i want to include here a very interesting testimony.

The tattoo artist who did this tattoo for me who is a Buddhist, she is a very anti-Christianity kinda person. As she doing the tatts for me, she questioned me on whether Christian can do a tattoo or is it a taboo, but i simply answer her with what i know for not being superstitious, not religious, but daring and confident to enter to marketplace and engage the culture where the lost are in. I also share with her how i got save as well as how God has transform my life and bless me, and i told her about cultural mandate that City Harvest Church practise too. And by the end of the day, she was somehow change her mindset towards Christianity and jokingly challenge me that "if i follow her to temple, then in return she follow me to church service!" and we even exchanged phone numbers to contact each other. Thought that she won't easily accept Christ like this, but i've managed to sow a seed, planted in her heart, and i believe that, one day this seed will grown and reap in harvest!

That's the power of Cultural Mandate that we Christians shouldn't be judgmental, shouldn't be religious, superstitous, not vain and vulgar but be confident to step in the marketplace to move for God! Halelujah!

LOVE GOD: What About Tattoos?

Tattoos have become a mark of the 21st century. According to the August 4, 2008, issue of U.S. News & World Report, more than one quarter of those under the age of 30 adorn their skin with at least one. No longer is tattoo something reserved only for gang members, convicts, delinquents or social outcasts. In fact, many of the preachers’ kids of the largest churches in Australia, America and Europe have them on their bodies. And these PKs are by no means rebellious or unspiritual. Most of them are doing excellent jobs leading youth, music and creative ministries. Some are even deliberately using their tattoos as a bridge to connect with the unchurched in outreach efforts. However, for most people, a tattoo is simply a means of stylistic expression. Many middle-aged women may not tattoo patterns and designs, but they go to their aestheticians to tattoo their eyebrows, eyeliners and lip colors.

So, is tattooing a sin? Are Christians allowed to have them?

Those who argue against it often quote Leviticus 19:28, “You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.” The word for “tattoo” in its original Hebrew is qa-aqa, which appears only this one time in the entire Scripture. Proper hermeneutic requires us to read any Bible passage with the actual context in mind. Practically all Bible commentaries agree that the context of Leviticus 19 is God prohibiting the Israelites from adopting the religious practices of the pagan nations surrounding them. Adam Clarke’s Commentary of the Old Testament says that the pagans were carrying “marks on the body in honor of the object of their worship ... for superstitious purposes ... in honor of different idols.” Nelson’s NKJV Study Bible says that the practice “had religious significance among Israel’s pagan neighbors.” But what if there is no religious, superstitious or idolatrous implication? Is a believer allowed to tattoo then?

Technically, if one takes the view that Leviticus 19 prohibits tattooing for all people in all circumstances, then for consistency’s sake, one must also abide by all the letters of the law here. That includes no shaving around the sides of the head, and the mandatory keeping of beards for all men (v27), which is a near impossibility for any serving in the military today. That also includes not wearing clothes made of different fabrics (v19). Should we then also continue with slavery and the keeping of mistresses, both accepted practices during the ancient days of Leviticus (v20)? Should we continue the Old Testament dietary restrictions like no eating of pork, shrimp, crab or shellfish? What about headscarves for women? Do we need to enforce that on all Christian women today? Most of us will agree that the answers to all the above are an emphatic no.

Next, is God Himself abhorrent to tattoos? God says in Isaiah 49:16, “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands. Your walls are continually before Me.” The word “inscribe” in Hebrew means “to engrave.” The scholars of The Living Bible simply translate that as “I have tattooed your name upon my palm.” When John saw a vision of God’s chosen 144,000, they were “sealed” and “written” with the Father’s name on their foreheads (Rev. 7:3; 14:1). Those words in the original Greek mean to “mark,” “stamp” and “engrave.” The book of Revelation also talks about false worshipers receiving the mark of the beast, which were called stigmata among the Greeks. To this Paul refers when he says, “I bear in my body the marks (stigmata) of the Lord Jesus” (Gal. 6:17). Whether the prophet Isaiah and the apostles John and Paul are speaking metaphorically or otherwise, one thing is for sure, body markings are not always repugnant to God. As such, we must be careful not to paint them as evil or sinful in a broad, general stroke.

Theologians, like Tom Beaudoin, have done studies on youths who pierce or tattoo their bodies. They discovered that youths do that when they have had profound experiential encounters. Things that impact them deeply, like when they fall in love, get their hearts broken, graduate, start a new job, achieve something they are proud of, or lose a loved one through death. To the youths and young adults of the 21st century, tattooing (and body piercing) are often not something vain or rebellious, but more like a rite of passage. It is their way of expressing the spiritual in the physical, even at the expense of experiencing some bodily pain.

For most people, tattooing today is simply a means of personal and stylistic expression, much like clothing, makeup, hairstyle, body-toning and fashion accessorizing. There is nothing religious, superstitious and rebellious to the wearer; it is simply for aesthetic value.

Because tattooing is designed to last forever, and removal is painful and expensive, you should enter into it only after much consideration. Ask yourself the following:

• Am I at a legally acceptable age to get a tattoo?
• If I live with my parents, would they support my decision?
• Would I still want this tattoo when I get older?
• Am I really comfortable having it even if people may “unfairly judge” me?
• If my tattoo is visible to others, is it appropriate for my line of work?

Ultimately, tattooing is a personal choice that, more often than not, reflects neither a rebellious nature nor a religious inclination. It is clearly written in the Bible that God looks beyond the surface and sees the heart of a person. We must be careful not to judge a believer with tattoos as loving God less than the one without.

my phone ring... it reads "Mandy"... i pick up the call....i didn't say anything.... the girl in the other hand keep repeating "Joe, Joe? are you there? Hello?..." but i remain silent... The rain pours down heavily now... i wonder when the rain is going to stop...

The rain finally stop at 11:28am, i walked inside Starbucks just to grab a cup of long black... strange... something is wrong..very wrong..i don't take coffee usually, i guess i just want the bitterness to fill up the space of my mouth... the staff at the counter greeted me with a smile, and i replied "what's with that grin on your face?" She look surprised... i find a sit.. i sat down and facing towards the glass that i can look on the streets... i saw an old man walking with his back carrying a heavy pile of old newspapers... the heavy burden that he can't sustain anymore... he collapsed... everyone that walked pass him seems like unaware of this old man's existence... i have a sip on my long black... like it's name... the long and dark never ending bitterness filling up my mouth... i poured the remaining on the floor.. each every words and lyrics of Slipknot's Vermilion are began to surface in my mind. I walked out of the shop. And i saw a lady painting a scenery at outside of the coffee shop, thought that she is painting with variety of palettes on her hand... yet still what i see in the painting is a black and white. Is the same when C.Ronaldo decided to leave Manchester United, I'm a loyal MUFC supporter! Is the team but not the person! FORZA FERRARI~ GLORY GLORY MAN UTD~ once a RED forever a RED!

I've been supporting Scuderia Ferrari since year 2000, and it will goes on forever and the legacy will eventually pass on to my next generation too!

I just hope that Massa can cope well with Alonso next season...

LOVE LIFE: Penang Trip December 2009

What happened when 5 beautiful Ladies and 3 Cute Guys hit the beach at The "Food Haven", "Land of Pearl" or whatever name you call it. What you are reading is the trip to Penang Island we just came back last week.

We departed at approximately 1.45am dawn and dusk, Friday 11th. After attending our Cell Groups respectively, Me, Ann, Agnes and The Twins Charis & Christy all hopped in to my lil Savvy and sped up to the Island. We touch the island at exact 5.45am, then the very first thing we did which is drive up to Teluk Bahang waiting for sunrise... well...unfortunately we all end up at the wrong direction of the sunrise spot, which the sun raised at another direction (><) Doh.....

After that, we decided to go to the town for Dim Sum breakfast, and along the way, we picked up Ben from the Jeti. And after festing ourselves with tons of food on the table...it only cost us RM57!!! how cheap!!! Oh ya, the Dim Sum Restaurant is call Zim Sum located at McAllister Road.

Well girls are girls... when we finished our breakfast, they all wanted to go the Gurney Plaza Shopping Mall at 9.50am!!! and well, as expected they'll went to the mall's toilet to makeup... yes yes... even myself quoted that guys like girls that know to makeup. And taking our own sweet times walking around the mall and snap some pictures. Well did i mentioned 8 person in total, so where's the other 2? yea yea... oh well, Hunter and Leanne we're coming in another car, we're schdeuled to meet up for dinner after resting in our hotel.

We took a 2 hours rest in the hotel room, then Sophie - a friend of mine from City Harvest Church Penang came and look for us. While the girls are busy grooming up, well me and Ben was also busy grooming ourselves... this is a scene that is so familiar to us, as if exactly like we're serving in the artist room for makeup and hairdo... hahaha... I helped Agnes to straigthen her hair and helped Ben, Sophie and Charis to style their hair...yup..included my hair.. that's why i said that it is like our weekly routine at church before the service start! And i lend my Ed Hardy® Tee to Ben ^^

While waiting for Leanne and Hunter, we took some photographs at the hotel lobby and Ann directed Ben and Me for an unofficial photoshoot advertising for Ed Hardy....LOL

And finally they arrived with Leanne's Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0, then we head to Northam Beachside Cafe for dinner, and i met my another friend Auntie Joyce there :)

Joyce's mum happened to opened a local delights kiosk in there, and i tried the Penang style Koey Teow from her... thumbs up! ^^ you guys should try out if you happened to be there. The kiosk is between The Char Koey Teow and the Chicken Wings kiosks.

After that, we when to the Night Bazaar at Batu Feringghi while Christy, Agnes, Hunter and Leanne decided to go back to the hotel. We played a funny game after i came back from the night bazaar, and whoever that lose the game will get a punishment of....putting the opposite sex under garment on our head! And we got the very lucky winner of the night for crowning Hunter's boxer on her head - Leanne muahahahaha.....well... for privacy issue...i'm not allow to post the photo here... :P just check out my facebook then heehee... and there goes the end of day 1.

On second day, we had some more fun in the swimming pool, played some games and snap more photos. :)

but look what we got here... Hunt-Man coming for the rescue and save the day...with his 2 sidekicks - Lady Agnes & Hardy Boy!

Uhmm.... congrats Hunt-Man...you just laid a pinky egg! :D

After the fun, we all went for the service at City Harvest Church Penang, and was totally blown away by the preaching of Pastor Saras Bany. He preached about The Power of Purpose, and until now...i still remember his catchphrases such as "Neighbour, Is Good!". Indeed, we were like seeing Pastor Kong infront of us, Ben second that.

After the service, we went to Hard Rock Hotel at night while Leanne and Hunter were already on their way back to KL. And there goes our final night of stay at Penang.

After the trip, Christy, Ann and Agnes are all sick... but nevertheless, we enjoyed the trip as well as the time of fellowship with each other, even some little unhappy events happened, but it still bound us together as friends. After all, we're so much care for each other throughout the trip. Also, this is the farewell for Ann and Christy who are leaving to Singapore and Sabah respectively... we're gonna miss you girls! And looking forward for the next trip with you guys again! :)

Today is my 3rd and final day of my Fast & Pray. This is my first time doing a 3 days fast without any solid food but solely on liquid. It was tough and whenever i pass by those tasty yummy restaurants I'm sort of almost got tempted... but hell no! I won't give it away and throw the tower!

Well today is my 3rd consecutive days feeding myself with soup + milo + 100 plus. And since is the final day of my fast (not really final, gonna continue the remaining 4 more days after my Penang Trip) I decided to indulge myself in the nearby local Secret Recipe ^^

So this is what i took. Cream of Mushroom soup... <---- i suddenly think of my friend with the mushroom head teehee :D

Then unsatisfied, i ordered another Pumpkin Soup hehehe ^^

Ouch, i was too hungry and without knowing, i stuck the spoon with the super hot soup into my mouth..and there goes.... OOOUUCCHHH...i burn my toungue... and thhennn i stvarted tho spaek lik dis.... aww...aww..aww....

Quickly drink some water....whew.... T______T

uhm... yummy.....

My grandma said i look more skinnier nowadays...well... I'm gonna rebuilt back my body's weight after the fast & pray.

I look thinner then usual right? Well... i think fast and pray is good...as it help us grow to another level and be sensitive on things God show to us. Nevertheless, spiritually we're moving into another step of maturity too. Well not to forgot to mentioned, it helps detoxify the toxic in your body too.

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage?

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him an leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone.

Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.

He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.

The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him . Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!

Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold.

It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.

We, too, are never alone.
Even when we don't know it, God is watching over us, Sitting on the stump beside us.
When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.

Moral of the story:
Just because you can't see God,
Doesn't mean He is not there.

LOVE GOD: The Power of Fasting

I have been fasting regularly since 1986. In the early days, I would fast once a week for 24 hours, from 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday to 6:00 a.m. on Thursday. However, since 2004, I have been going on 21-day full fasts once every 6 months. Once, in 2007, I fasted for 40 days.

Many people have asked me, “Kong, why do you fast so often?” This blog is dedicated to that question. There are many wonderful benefits of fasting:

1. Biological: The physical benefits fasting has toward the body have been so well documented that even non-Christians these days fast regularly for better health. According to World Health Net, a study by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, shows that regular fasting can reduce risk of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, insulin resistance, immune disorders, and more generally, the slowing of the aging process, and the potential to increase maximum life span.

In Japan, “fasting clubs” are now in vogue. A June 16, 2003, issue of Newsweek states that “for decades Japanese doctors have treated obesity, diabetes and some psychiatric illnesses with fasting.”

During a fast, the body takes the opportunity to eliminate a lot of toxins (harmful substances) that have been built up over the years. The toxins are predominantly stored in fat and mucous cells. The body is “resetting” itself. A common detoxification reaction is headaches. This occurs because the toxins in the blood cause it to thicken and hence cause a headache. A simple remedy is to drink more water or have a bowel movement. In fact, a three-day fast has been used as a standard means of detox recommended by nutritionists the world over.

In America, it is now common to have a 28-day detox program. Books such as Get Healthy Through Detox and Fasting: How to Revitalize Your Body in 28 Days by Don Colbert, and New Again! The 28-Day Detox Plan for Body and Soul by Anna Selby, describe detoxification plans which remove harmful toxins from the body and revitalize it.

2. Spiritual: There are a number of very good reasons why we Christians should fast:

a. Breaking the power of the carnal flesh. Our fallen nature is so tightly linked to the physical appetites of our human body. The more inordinately we yield to our physical drives (such as hunger, sleep, sex), the more we embolden the carnal nature of our undisciplined flesh. Apostle Paul himself was fully aware of the power of the flesh, and constantly disciplined his body “to bring it into subjection” (1 Cor. 9:27). One of the ways he did this was “in fastings often.” (2 Cor. 11:27). As I deprive my body of its craving for food, I am taming my flesh and bringing it into subjection to my spirit. By the end of my fasting period, I often find myself more spiritual, more heavenly minded, more in tune with God, and more sensitive to His voice. In fact, the Scripture records that the reason the church leaders of Antioch were so sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit, concerning His plan to reach the Gentile world, was a direct result of prayer and fasting (Acts 13:2).

b. Self-humbling before the Lord. This is the reason why the saints in the Bible fast (Ps. 35:13). They were reminding themselves that they were weak in their own human strength to achieve the big visions and goals that God had set before them. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak (Matt. 26:41). Therefore if our God-ordained dream is going to happen, it must be by a supernatural work of the Lord.

Fasting heightens that awareness. When I fast, I feel so weak in myself. I can’t workout in the gym. I can’t run five km (three miles) each day. After every service during my 21-day fasting season, I often felt like “crashing.” I would then cry out to the Lord, “Jesus, I can’t do it, please help me by the power of Your Holy Spirit!” God will always give grace to the humble (James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5).

c. Increasing the anointing level. Jesus says that certain demons can’t be expelled except by prayer and fasting (Matt.17:21). Last month at the Kuala Lumpur Emerge (our annual youth conference in Malaysia), many commented that the preaching of the Word and the ministry time were some of the best they have ever had. Honestly, I didn’t feel any different. In fact, I felt I didn’t preach too well in a couple of the sessions because I was tired due to my long fast. However, many attendees sent me text messages and emails to say that their lives were so impacted and irrevocably changed. As I reflect on this, I can clearly see that God Himself was doing the work. He had so anointed my voice and let His power flow freely through the laying on of my hands. The presence and power of God made a huge difference in my time at KL.

3. Revival & Church Growth: In the Bible, whenever the people of God stopped fasting, they became dull and complacent. However, when a fast was decreed, the whole nation underwent revival and deliverance (2 Chr. 20:3-25; Esther 4:16; Ezra 8:21; Jonah 3:5-10). Last month, I fasted and prayed for three specific purposes: (1) 30 percent growth in every pastoral zone, (2) CHC to get its 10,000-seat arena in the city, and (3) my wife Sun to excel in her American singing career. Fasting greatly adds spiritual momentum to my prayer and faith.

What to Do When You Fast?

* If you have a sickness, if you are pregnant, or if you are a nursing mother, please don’t fast.

* If you have a history of weak health, please seek medical advice beforehand if you want to fast.

* If you are on regular medication, please consult a doctor before you fast.

* If you can’t fast throughout the week, just go for a three-day fast. But please don’t fast intermittently (stopping a few meals, eating a few meal) as this will affect the rhythm of your gastric flow and may hurt your body. Once you start fasting, don’t eat until you have finished the fast.

* You must drink a lot of water when you fast. Be careful of juices and beverages (such as, coffee) that may give you gastric problems because of the acids they contain. For some people, milk may result in a lot of gas. Yoghurt may cause stomach rumblings, and is generally considered food. The best is electrolytes like 100-Plus, H-2-0, Pocari, et cetera. You need the minerals contained in them during a fast. Drinking clear soup in moderation is good when you need extra energy for work or ministry.

* Don’t do anything strenuous like run 10 km, house-moving, dance performances, etc. Adopt a commonsense approach to fasting.

* Brush your teeth often as you will tend to have bad breath (again, due to the release of toxins). I normally carry a toothbrush and toothpaste everywhere I go when I am fasting.

* Most of all, when you fast, try to start or end the day with a time of deep personal devotion and prayer. Fasting must go with prayer. Otherwise, it is just dieting or a “hunger strike.”

How to Break a Fast?

After fasting, always begin with a light meal, even if you have fasted for only a short period of time. Don’t begin with anything too greasy, fatty or heavy.

The next thing to keep in mind is that the longer the fast, the more gradual it takes to break it. Somebody has said that you must take as long a time to break your fast as you do the period of fasting. When you have fasted for a long time (over three weeks), your stomach becomes like that of a baby’s. Feed yourself after that fast as you would a baby. It may take up to a week to get back to consuming normal food.

When you are in a fast, you usually don’t feel so hungry after the first three days. However, when you start to eat again, your hunger comes back. That is when you must really hold on to yourself. Exercise self-control. Fasting causes your stomach to contract. It is unwise to expand it again to the same extent. Fasting is a great way to change our eating habits, which many of us need to do. However, if you are planning to slim down or reduce your weight, fasting alone will not do that normally. You will get a few kilos off, but you will put them on just as quickly unless you combine it with a changed program of eating and exercise.

LOVE FASHION: Lex Low FUTURUS; HEREAFTER

Last Sunday we all gather at Church at night to support Lex's (my hair and makeup ministry senior) graduation hair show. I was actually nearly overslept from taking an afternoon nap, but fortunately was alerted by one of my friend's wake up call. (whew!) It was a blast, the show actually delayed for half an hour, but is worth the wait.

While waiting, i take my lousy camera phone to snap some pictures... sadly that i'm very disappointed with the quality of the images. I think is time for me to invest on a SLR that i've been long waited...ish ish...(><)

The show kicked off with some performances by African Choir, our own CHC Michael Jackson as well as International BeatBoxer - Shawn Lee, also our church member. Man I feel great and awesome being in such creative and colorful church, full of creative people, indeed our creator, our Lord, our Heavenly Father is a Creative God, Amen?

And after the performances is the long awaited hair show catwalk time, woohoo! I'm so impress with the models and enjoyed the background music (yes, I'm a trance freak) and to my surprise some of the models are actually our church members, only 4-5 of them are professional models outsource from outside.

Toni & Guy has been amazingly created many cool hairstyles, and i feel proud of my friend Lex that graduated from there, and of course, it will be great for me that i can learn from him as i serve in the hair and makeup ministry.

After the show, we have some cocktails and snacks at the church lobby, snap some photos and i buzz off to the cinema to catch ASTROBOY :)

LOVE MUSIC: My ♥ ESP/LTD Guitar

Hey peeps, this is the first time i post my electric guitar here, well those who knows me well, should know that I'm a big fan of ESP/LTD guitars. I spend my hard-earned RM1,050 for this M-50 baby.

I personally was drawn to it's pointy head stock, looks kinda cool huh?

The pickup is using Humbucker pickup similar as those used in Les Pauls, suitable for playing Metal genres riffs.

My next Electric Guitar gonna be Gibson Les Paul! and I'm saving up the money for it now :)

LOVE ARTS: Emerge Rising Fashion Competition

On 22 November 2009, Our fashion team consist of me, Jasper, Yi Zhen & Leanne were one of the 9 teams in the final. Though that we didn't win anything, but we enjoy throughout the process, and also the great friendship that have gained through this competition. Well honestly speaking, I never expected that we will be qualified for the final during the Preliminaries Round 6 weeks ago, we really give out our best, and i would like to take this opportunity to say thanks again to my teammates for all the hardworks that had put in. The theme of the Fashion Competition is "Harajuku".

We started at approximate 4pm on the day and were given 90 minutes to finish our makeup, dress up, hairdo and so on... You can see everyone including me are quite stress and focus throughout...

This is my idea on putting a wing as a tattoo on Yi Zhen's face, sadly, the concept is not strong enough, compare to the facial art that we applied during the Pre-lim round.

And we're all ready and take a few final shots with other contestants as well as Hannah Tan (the judge on that night) before we go on stage.

LOVE GOD: Faith + Patience to inherit the promise God going to reveal to you

Last night Pastor Tan Ye Peng's service was a blast! I'm so glad that i can attend all the sessions since Tuesday morning. One of the points that Pastor Tan delivered to me, hit me so great, the impact is so strong that i know that it is God speaking to me.

Most of the time we will face obstacles and tough times in life, I'm not excluded as well... Well, i can say that from the year 2000 onwards i face a lots of ups and downs, was disappointed with the people (family & friends) around me, was tortured by the keep coming back eczema allergies, longing for a financial breakthrough, as well as my career are facing uncertain future. I pray to God, but things are not turning to the bright side that I'm expecting. So, i back slided, and didn't attend church services and my life was so mess up... it was the darkest moment of my life. But thanks God, that i joined City Harvest Church, the place where i called "home".

Pastor Tan was sharing to us about how we must keep believing God, keep praying during tough times and He will reveal the things to you at his best timing! Many times we will blame God for not answering prayers, we just don't want have the patience, as if that we want God immediately grant us the things we ask for. But Jesus was saying this in John 11:9

“Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world."

Jesus was actually saying that something must happen first before we reach our goals. 12 hours before the sun rise, if we walk in dark, we might fall and stumble because of no light. There is a timing for God to answer your prayers! and his timing is always the best timing! In fact, God already answered the prayer, but decided to delay it for the best timing to reveal it.

It is because of i keep believing, keep praying.

The long torturing me skin allergies are finally healed! My career are stepping in to a whole new level that God bless me greatly and abundantly! My relationship with my family are getting better and better! Hallelujah! Praise The Lord!

I've learned to trust God whole heartedly, patiently, never cease to pray and believe Him in faith that he is going to answer my prayers! I read one article by Tom Brown that i would like to share here, he said...

An author can write a book that makes the bestseller list, while another book which is better written can collect dust on the shelves because it came out too early or too late. Timing can make or break a good idea.

As wise Solomon wrote, "He has made everything beautiful in its time" (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

They only produce very limited quantity on one design of any of their products from shirt, jeans, shoe to accessories, that's why it attracts the eyes of the celebrities around the world. My tips on dressing is just mix and match, just watch the video above on how they wear it with style, flaunt your sexy belt and underwear out is sort of cool way on wearing it. The most basic one is just a T-shirt match with a jeans will do, oh ya, not to forget to mention the cap as well. By the way, I'm gonna grab a few beach wear shorts for my Penang Trip next month..yeehaa!!! now about the pricing... a t-shirt can cause you RM300 and as expensive as RM700++ or higher, don't complain! as i told you before, this is a celebrity apparels, and wearing it is just like wearing Don Ed Hardy's tattoo on your body. For the rest of the items is usually between RM200 - RM600. So bring extra cash guys!

WOMAN's CORNER

Well as for the ladies, I'm so pretty sure that your fashion sense is even greater then me right? Just wear it extra ordinary with matching what your taste is like. Ed Hardy has lotsa sexy beachwear line for you hot chics! and be sure to grab those accessories like ear rings, wristband as well. The pricing for ladies is slightly higher then the guy's range. (just refer back to pricing of guys above) Oh ya, be sure to grab one size smaller then the size usually you buy because Ed Hardy's clothes can be stretch, so it can show your sexy figure :)

KID's CORNER

Look at those cool stuffs for kids, from shirt to pants, bags and even belts...my God... I'm gonna grab those hot stuffs for my son and daughter. Well how to dress up your kids? i think the most simple and safest is do a father-son, mother-daughter family wear, you don't want your child to look different and not resembling you, right? The pricing for the kids range is much more cheaper that you can afford compare to visiting Guess Kids, Gap kids... Hey watch out the kids of rockstars!

ACCESSORIES CORNER

Lastly on the accessories, remember to grab those caps, wristbands, belts and shoes..whichever stuff that can mix and match with you top...wear it to hit the shopping mall on weekends or even to a party. Is not a must, but essentially, it will grab some attentions from the public...trust me... few guys notice my belt when i flip up my shirt to reach my hand to my pocket... :)

I've been thinking this for quite sometime... I'm imagining myself in a world of black and white... the funeral song of mine "Hurt by Nine Inch Nails" being played on the background... i would apply some emotionless look, I'm gonna wear it when I'm walking down the streets... i walk pass by a friend of mine... unnoticed that he is greeting at me, i walked pass by him, as if like another stranger passing by...then i walked in to a guitar shop... i purchased a white Gibson Les Paul, and i poured the black paint all over it, i cut off the string... then i would sell it back to the owner at $25.80 (Don't ask me why, the figure just came out of my mind) I think at this very moment the song "If I Was Your Vampire by Marilyn Manson" are playing at the background, and in the same time... the rain started to fall by now... everyone on the streets began to flee and seek for the shelter nearby... while I'm still wearing that dark look.. walking slowly, through the rain... one little girl stare at me inside an Italian Restaurant through the glass... my phone ring... it reads "Mandy"... i pick up the call....i didn't say anything.... the girl in the other hand keep repeating "Joe, Joe? are you there? Hello?..." but i remain silent... The rain pours down heavily now... i wonder when the rain is going to stop...

LOVE FASHION: Desigual®

Desigual®- Dis'equal in Spanish, which it's not the same. The brand began in 1984 with the objective to create a Fun, Fresh, and differentiated clothing range. Personally, at first glance, i think that it would be a local nobody brand. But after a several times that my good friend keep talking about this brand to me, i started to develop the interest in this brand. To my surprise, i was attracted with Desigual's trademark African style of wild, funky, flowery design..yet...it looks great.

Still, i wasn't sure and convince with the quality, standard and status of this brand compare to my other favorite brands like Club Monaco, Ed Hardy, Christian Audigier, Pull & Bear, KeyNg (I'll further blog these brands in the future ) Until, my friend invited me to the grand opening at Pavillion weeks ago... wow..i was blown away..and decided to bought a cool scarf, a T-shirt and also a long sleeve top. All these cost me RM600++ but is worth the price ^^

after that, i decided to browse through youtube to search for Desigual's fashion show..and i found this...

That model looks like Tyra Banks (well in certain angle...)

Ok,and now is about some tips and guides for shopping this apparel, first you gotta make sure your wallet must have atleast RM500, or you can swipe it with your cards... This brand was voted brand of the year 2009 in Spain for a reason... celebrities and sport stars all began to develop interest in this brand which i forseen that soon might emulate Ed Hardy... a piece of shirt for guys might cost as cheap as RM180..and might shoot up high as expensive as RM1000++ ...well for ladies, never ever shop alone when you step into the territory of Desigual when you want to save up your cash :) bring along your guy...haha... well, for ladies range of clothes... Desigual have plenty of it for chics... almost 70% of the brand line in Malaysia is for girls..yes..i feel unfair and actually voiced out with the manager (yup, again my friend ^^) hopefully he will bring in more of the guy's range. Ladies range of clothes usually cost about minimum RM300 and goes as high as RM3000++

And now about how to Desigual!

First, be funky with how you wear and try to mix and match with other stuffs like cardigan, jacket, scarf... the best wear for guys is a t-shirt and with a cardigan plus a cool jeans with your sleeky sneakers, or even you can grab a button shirt and goes semi-casual which looks cool too, Desigual's button shirt is kinda fun but yet still have the formal kinda feel...suitable for designers or a weekend outing with the hot chics :)

For ladies, without teaching..i guess you know much better then me right? well, just try to be your own style, Desigual's stuff is very suitable for party, events and even a wedding dinner which you don't to be look too formal but yet very trendy, just like it's tagline - IT IS NOT THE SAME. i guess for girls, the best is a one-piece dress plus a scarf will make you look sizzling hot. well for more info, just take a look of the very cool website at www.desigual.com
